Short Adventure Games Worth Finishing in a Weekend

May 5, 2026 · Mikael Virtanen

There's a quiet joy in a game you can actually finish. Point-and-click adventures like Lanternwood Tales respect your time and tell a complete story in a handful of evenings.

The puzzles in good ones follow dream logic that still makes sense. If you're stuck, step back and look at every object you're carrying before you reach for a hint.

Play these at night, screen dimmed, headphones on. The atmosphere does a lot of the heavy lifting and rushing ruins the mood.

We need more games that know when to end. A tight five-hour adventure beats a padded fifty-hour grind for me every time.
